The International English Language Testing System (IELTS)  has announced a more convenient way for examinees as the British Council Philippines open a new computer aided format for Academic or General Training. 


IELTS is an international standardized English language proficiency test for higher education and global migration. IELTS assess all of the English skills - reading, writing, listening and speaking of people who aspires studying, working or living in an English speaking country. 




Examinees now have a choice of taking IELTS either on a paper or computer starting November 2018. IELTS examination is composed of four test sections: Listening, Reading, Writing and Speaking. 

In a paper-based IELTS, Listening, Reading and Writing test sections are completed on the same day while Speaking test can be done a week before or after the other tests. On the other hand, all four sections of computer-based IELTS should be completed on the same day. 

IELTS has two modules, the Academic Module for candidates wishing to study undergraduate or postgraduate level and General Training Module for candidates wishing to study or train at below degree level and for those wishing to migrate in an English speaking country like Australia, Canada, New Zealand, and UK. 

Registration should be done three days prior to test schedule as imposed by the British Council. Currently, IELTS test fee is Php 10, 270. Available test centers are in Manila, Bacolod, Baguio, Batangas, Cagayan de Oro, Cebu, Davao, Iloilo, Leyte, Naga and Pampanga.
